sculptural ashtray formed in my custom mould and individually altered after casting, so each piece shares the same structure but not the same outcome. The edges are pushed, shifted, or softened by hand, which gives every tray its own slight distortion and character.
The glaze settles into this deep purple, almost cosmic pattern, uneven, reactive, and full of small color shifts that happen naturally in firing. The form has multiple separated sections branching out from one body, which is where the idea of together(ness) comes in: individual spaces connected through one shape.
It works as an ashtray, incense tray, or catch-all, but it also stands on its own as a small sculptural object.
